Accommodation

We will be staying in the beautiful Xanadu Surf & Yoga Village located in the heart of Kuta, Lombok. Nestled amongst lush green vegetation in a quiet cul-de-sac roughly 5 minute’s walk from the bars, cafes and restaurants of Kuta, this 6-bedroom location is definitely impressive, don’t get us wrong, but it’s more casual cool than upscale fancy. With comfy, cosy bedrooms, an outdoor dining area and pool plus a rooftop yoga space, it’s a modern meets traditional bed and breakfast-style oasis for salty souls and curious travellers. Picture lazy poolside hangs, clean and cosy rooms and genuinely caring staff. We have a range of accomodation options from share rooms to private rooms.

Travel

Each guest is responsible for their own travel to and from Lombok, Indonesia. You can get to Lombok three different ways: plane, ferry or fast boat. By plane is the fastest and best way to reach Lombok. When taking the plane you’ll fly into Lombok International Airport–located about 25 minutes from the popular surf town of Kuta and Xanadu. Airport return transfers are included in our package. Taking a ferry or fast boat are the more time-consuming and less convenient options. However, going by sea is significantly cheaper than flying and offers a unique experience for travellers. If you choose to bring your own longboard you will need to travel on the ferry or fast boat. We can organise pick up from the harbour at IDR 550,000 per car (max. 4 people).

Group Size

We have limited the size of this trip to a maximum of 9 guests. This is to provide our guests an intimate experience with like-minded pals & heaps of 1:1 time to improve your skills.

Food

You can expect daily breakfast, welcome and farewell dinners (we cater to various dietary restrictions). You will also be provided a packed lunch on our surf trip day. Kuta, Lombok is packed with amazing places to eat & drink. For the additional lunches & dinners we will venture into town & find the best resturants and bars to eat and drink.

Hi, I’m Steph!

An Aussie surfer and snowboarder that loves to empower women with everything I do. My surfing journey started when I was in my early teens where my mutual love for the ocean & seeing women thrive, lead me to start Groove Girls in 2019. I have spent the last two northern hemisphere winters snowboarding the slopes of Whistler, gaining my CASI Level 2 & Park 1 snowboard instructor certification. I founded Groove Girls as a way to connect women & provide a space of encouragement through our community Group Surfs. Over the past 3+ years, I have been hosting Groove Girls Surf Retreats and Snow Trips within Australia, New Zealand & Japan, creating a safe and supportive environment and bringing women together from all over the world. My goal is to help women step outside their comfort zones, believe in themselves, pursue all the things they've always dreamed of doing & have fun whilst doing it!

Hi, I’m Ash! @ashleejaade_

I am a passionate surfer and surf coach based on the Gold Coast. I started surfing in 2016 and was immediately hooked. I spent years teaching myself how to shortboard with a bit of help from locals and a lot of persistence. Three years ago I picked up my first longboard and have since poured everything into progressing my surfing style. I joined Groove Girls in 2022 to find a supportive and vibrant community and spent the last year and a half assisting with surf retreats and group surfs. I spent time travelling all the way up and down the east coast and through Indonesia to find the best waves possible to challenge myself and make lifelong memories. Last year I received my ASI L1 and started coaching at Currumbin Alley which was where I started my surfing journey. I am always driven by the desire to give back and support others in finding confidence in and out of the water. I hope to help others fine tune their skills, connect with their passion and provide a safe space for self expression.

Bookings & Cancellations

Upon booking, we require a $500 initial deposit to secure your booking. We require that the remaining balance to be paid on the 26/08/25, 8.5 weeks prior to the start of the retreat. We will contact you via email to complete the outstanding balance. Please expect emails 2-4 days after the deposit has been paid through our website. Please note deposits are non-refundable. If you fail to complete the outstanding payment by 26/08/25 we will assume that you are no longer joining us, your spot will be listed back on our website & your deposit will not be refunded.

Payment Plans

If you would like to request a payment plan, once you’ve paid your deposit please email us at groovegirls@outlook.com. We can offer fortnightly or monthly payment plans. Please keep in mind that final payment must be paid by 26/08/25.

Cancellations and Refunds
If you need to cancel your trip for a medical reason or emergency we will offer a refund up until 26/08/25 (excluding deposit). Within the 8.5 weeks leading up to the trip, we will not be able to issue a refund. However, we will accept the your spot being sold to another person during this time. Please inform us of any changes.

We are a small business and cancellations can put us in a very hard place. So from past experience we are being firm on a non-refundable deposit. We strongly advise ensuring your comprehensive travel insurance covers for booking/trip cancellations to protect you from unforeseen circumstances out of your control that may lead to a cancellation and a loss of investment.
