Accommodation
We will be staying in our own private lodge located in the heart of Hakuba, Goryu. We have a range of accomodation options from family share rooms, twin rooms and a private room. Our Hakuba lodge has a traditional Japanese-style setup with shared bathrooms instead of ensuites. The bathrooms and showers have recently been upgraded, so everything feels fresh, comfortable, and easy to use. Our lodge is a short walk away from the slopes of Goryu, with easy access to Iimori & Hakuba 47.
Room Options:
Single Bed in Share room - 4 person room - $3,690pp for single bed
Single Bed in Twin Room - 2 person room - $3,870pp for single bed
Private King Room - 1 person room - $4,190 for own king bed
Travel/Flights
Each guest is responsible for their own travel/flights to and from Japan. As part of our package we will arrange airport transfers for each guest joining our trip. You have the choice of pick up from Narita Airport or Haneda Airport to Hakuba. Check-in is from 3pm on the 12th of February. Check-out is 10am on the 18th of February.
Hakuba Shuttle Bus & Transport
Our accomodation is a 5-minute walk from the lifts of Goryu with easy access to Iimori & Hakuba 47. As part of our package we have included 3 x AM drop offs to Happo-One/Happo Bus Terminal for bus access to other resorts (mountain shuttle included in Hakuba Valley Pass). We have also included 1 x private return transfer to Iwatake,Tsugeike or Cortina. We also have included 3 x evening shuttles to Echoland and/or Happo areas for dinners/evening activities + pick up at pre determined time. We will provide more information on bus times/schedule closer to the start of the trip.
Lift Passes
From past trips majoirty of our guests had already purchased an Epic Pass, so we having opted to exclude lift passes from our package. If you would like us to organise you a lift pass please let us know in the contact form when booking your spot.
Lessons
First timer - lower intermediate riders must include 2 x full day lessons. Please let us know in the sign up form when booking your spot.
Schedule
Arrive in Hakuba on February 12th. For those of you requiring lessons, these will be on the first 2 days of our trip, most likely at Goryu/Iimori. The other 3 days we will aim to explore the other mountains in the Hakuba area. A detailed itinerary will be sent out 2 weeks before commencement of trip.
Group Size
We have limited the size of this trip to a maximum of 13 guests to provide each guest with a more personal, connected, and supportive experience.
Food
Breakfast is included daily, as well as 1 x group dinner at our accom. The dinner provided will have 1 x meat option & 1 x vegetarian option. Please note our accommodation cannot cater to food allergies, severe intolerances or celiac. However, the dining room has a microwave, hot water and toaster accessible to guests during our stay. On the other nights, we will explore the amazing restaurants and bars in Hakuba.
On Mountain Guiding
Each day our guides will be there to show you around the mountains of Hakuba fostering a safe and supportive environment. Please note that our guided sessions are not lessons, rather a time where the group can ride together, receive tips from our guides & support each other on the slopes. The camaraderie & encouragement during these sessions is the most special part of riding together. It’s also the most perfect environment to gain confidence on the slopes and improve your skills.
Travel Insurance
It is a requirement that each guest takes out their own comprehensive travel insurance that covers for snow sports. If you would like to ride off-piste during our time in Hakuba it is a requirement this is also included in your comprehensive travel insurance policy. We require proof of insurance 30 days prior to the start of the trip.
Itinerary
An in-depth itinerary will be provided closer to the dates. Our first ski/snowboard day will be 13th of February.
Meet your host
Hi, I’m Steph! An Aussie surfer and snowboarder that loves to empower women with everything I do. I've spent the last two northern hemisphere winters riding the slopes of Whistler, working on my own riding skills and hosting community snow events. I am a CASI Level 2 & Park 1 snowboard instructor & there's nothing I love more than allowing others to experience the magic of snow sports. In 2019 I founded Groove Girls as a way to connect women & provide a space of encouragement through our community Group Surfs. Over the past 3+ years, I have been hosting Groove Girls Surf Retreats and Snow Trips within Australia, New Zealand & Japan, creating a safe and supportive environment and bringing women together from all over the world. My goal is to help women step outside their comfort zones, believe in themselves, pursue all the things they've always dreamed of doing & have fun whilst doing it!
Bookings & Cancellations
Upon booking, we require a $500 initial deposit to secure your booking. We will contact you via email to complete the outstanding balance. Please expect emails 2-4 days after the deposit has been paid through our website. Deposits are only refundable before 20/09/25.
We require that the remaining balance to be paid by 12/12/25. If you fail to complete the outstanding payment by 12/12/25 we will assume that you are no longer joining us, your spot will be listed back on our website & your deposit will not be refunded.
Payment Plans
If you would like to request a payment plan, once you’ve paid your deposit please email us at groovegirls@outlook.com.
Cancellations and Refunds
If you need to cancel your trip for any reason, we will offer a full refund up until 20/09/25. After this we will only offer a refund due to a medical reason or emergency up until 12/12/25 (excluding deposit). Within the 8.5 weeks leading up to the trip, we will not be able to issue a refund. However, we will accept the your spot being sold to another person during this time. Please note your deposit will still be non-refundable. Please inform us of any changes.
We are a small business and cancellations can put us in a very hard place. So from past experience we are being firm on a non-refundable deposit from 20/09/25. We strongly advise including booking/trip cancellation insurance as part of your comprehensive travel insurance policy.

Absolutely! We welcome all levels to join us. This is the perfect trip to learn to ski or snowboard with a bunch of like-minded women. Please keep in mind you will be required to book 2 x full days of lessons if you are a first-timer - lower-intermediate rider.

Yes! This trip is designed for skiers and boarders who want to ride with other girls who like to send it. We will be riding powder, hosting specific park and ground trick sessions so you can challenge yourself in a positive atmosphere.

Absolutely! Most of the women who join our trips come solo. It is always the most warm and welcoming environment to meet new people, and you will most likely walk away with a new group of friends you can go on snow trips with.
