Japan Myoko Snow Trip 2026

Accommodation

We will be staying in our own private lodge located in Myoko Kogen. We have a range of room options from a Tatami Room (traditional style with futons), twin rooms and a share room with a bunk bed. Archie’s Guesthouse has a traditional Japanese-style setup with shared bathrooms instead of ensuites. The lodge has recently gone under a full renovation, so everything feels fresh, comfortable, and easy to use. House ammenities include kitchen, bathrooms, ski/snowboard storage, drying room, garage, high-speed Wi-Fi, heating throughout, fresh bedding & towels, washer/dryer combo. Our lodge is a short drive from the slopes of Akakura, Suginohara & Ikenotaira resorts.

Room Options:

Bunk Bed in Share Room - 4 person room - $3,470 for single bed on bunk

Single Bed in Tatami Room - 4-6 person room - $3,540pp for single futon bed 

Single Bed in Twin Room - 2 person room - $3,590pp for single bed

Travel/Flights

Each guest is responsible for their own travel/flights to and from Japan. For an additional cost we will arrange airport transfers for each guest joining our trip. You have the choice of pick up from Narita Airport or Haneda Airport to Myoko Kogen Akakura bus stop. We will provide private pick-ups & drop-offs between Myoko Kogen Akakura bus stop (or train station by request) & our lodge. Check-in is from 3pm on the 19th of February. Check-out is 10am on the 25th of February.

Myoko Slopes

As part of this trip, we have organised 2 rental cars so we can privately drive ourselves to the ski resorts each day. Our accomodation is a 5-minute drive from Ikenotaira Onsen & a 10-minute drive from Akakura Onsen & Suginohara. We will provide more information on our schedule closer to the start of the trip.

Schedule

Arrive in Myoko on February 19th. We will be riding for 5 consecutive days from the 20th of Feb. A detailed itinerary will be sent out 2 weeks before commencement of trip.

Group Size

We have limited the size of this trip to a maximum of 10 guests to provide each guest with a more personal, connected, and supportive experience.

Food

Catering is not included in our package; however, we’ll do a group supermarket shop to provide breakfast essentials for the week. Lunches and dinners will be purchased individually — lunch will be on the mountain each day, and in the evenings, we’ll explore Akakura Onsen’s restaurants and nightlife together. The accommodation also includes a fully equipped kitchen for those who prefer to cook and relax in.

Guided Group Rides

Each day our hosts will be there to show you around the mountains of Hakuba fostering a safe and supportive environment. Please note that our guided sessions are not lessons, rather a time where the group can ride together, receive tips from our guides & support each other on the slopes. The camaraderie & encouragement during these sessions is the most special part of riding together. It’s also the most perfect environment to gain confidence on the slopes and improve your skills.

Travel Insurance

It is a requirement that each guest takes out their own comprehensive travel insurance that covers for snow sports. If you would like to ride off-piste during our time in Myoko it is a requirement this is also included in your comprehensive travel insurance policy. We require proof of insurance 30 days prior to the start of the trip.

Itinerary

An in-depth itinerary will be provided closer to the dates. Our first ski/snowboard day will be 20th of February.

Meet your host

Hi, I’m Steph! An Aussie surfer and snowboarder that loves to empower women with everything I do. I've spent the last two northern hemisphere winters riding the slopes of Whistler, working on my own riding skills and hosting community snow events. I am a CASI Level 2 & Park 1 snowboard instructor & there's nothing I love more than allowing others to experience the magic of snow sports. In 2019 I founded Groove Girls as a way to connect women & provide a space of encouragement through our community Group Surfs. Over the past 3+ years, I have been hosting Groove Girls Surf Retreats and Snow Trips within Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia & Japan, creating a safe and supportive environment and bringing women together from all over the world. My goal is to help women step outside their comfort zones, believe in themselves, pursue all the things they've always dreamed of doing & have fun whilst doing it!

Bookings & Cancellations

Upon booking, we require a $500 initial deposit to secure your booking. We will contact you via email to complete the outstanding balance. Please expect emails 2-4 days after the deposit has been paid through our website. Deposits are only refundable before 31/10/25.

We require that the remaining balance to be paid by 18/12/25. If you fail to complete the outstanding payment by 18/12/25 we will assume that you are no longer joining us, your spot will be listed back on our website & your deposit will not be refunded.

Payment Plans

If you would like to request a payment plan, once you’ve paid your deposit please email us at groovegirls@outlook.com.

Cancellations and Refunds
If you need to cancel your trip for any reason, we will offer a full refund up until 31/10/25. After this we will only offer a refund due to a medical reason or emergency up until 18/12/25 (excluding deposit). Within the 8.5 weeks leading up to the trip, we will not be able to issue a refund. However, we will accept the your spot being sold to another person during this time. Please note your deposit will still be non-refundable. Please inform us of any changes.

We are a small business and cancellations can put us in a very hard place. So from past experience we are being firm on a non-refundable deposit from 31/10/25. We strongly advise including booking/trip cancellation insurance as part of your comprehensive travel insurance policy.
